It's called "the Sartiglia", and is one of the most popular since ancient Sardinian traditions. The term derives from the Spanish sortija, which means ring, and is in a race where the riders, their horses at a gallop, must pierce a ring-shaped star with a sword. The Sartiglia we run twice a year: the last Sunday of Carnival, and the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday.

The party that celebrates the city, almost all come together to May: from the first Sunday, which celebrates St. James, St. Saviour, St. George, Our Lady of Mount, St. Victoria and St. Anatolia. The second Sunday of May instead, it celebrates Our Lady of Snow, patron of Arzachena, whose feast is renewed in August with the procession, and we also celebrate St. Peter, St. Nicholas, St. Victor and Our Lady of Peace. On May 15, however, is celebrated in the whole island, St. Isidore, and is celebrated San Simplicio in Olbia: For this, the rites and festivities begin several days before, and are held in the Basilica of the same name.

The penultimate Sunday of May but we celebrate: Our Lady of Grace, Our Lady of Cabu Abbas, St. Elizabeth, St. Just. In all of the aforementioned festivals, folklore events, festivals, exhibitions and accompany the festivities for several days.
